The first-time login and setup process for the RingCentral embedded app in Teams consists of two main steps:
Signing in through Single Sign-On (SSO)
Launching the RingCentral Desktop Plugin
RingCentral: Teams App Sign-In Instructions
Open your Teams application.
Click the RingCentral icon to launch the app.
By default, the RingCentral app is pinned to the left bar in Teams.
If you do not see it, click the three-dot icon at the bottom of the left menu to open the app list. The RingCentral app should appear in the pop-up, or you can search for it.
Right-click the RingCentral icon and select Pin to add it to your main menu bar for easier access.
If you are unable to locate the app, please submit a ticket. Our Help Desk team will be happy to assist you.
- Once the RingCentral app is open, click Sign in in the main window.
- A new window will appear.
- Click Single Sign-on at the bottom of the screen.
- Single Sign-on (SSO) is how the majority of BGV users will log in.

- Enter your email address using the @grandtimber.com domain and click Submit
- The pop-up windows will close automatically, and you will be redirected back to the main RingCentral app screen.
Note: You may be redirected to the Microsoft sign-in page during this process. If this happens, enter your credentials as usual and complete the login.
Plugin Setup in the RingCentral Teams App
The first time you sign in to the RingCentral app in Teams on a computer, you may see a message indicating that you need to download and install the desktop plugin. This plugin is already installed automatically by IT in the background, but there are a few steps you will need to click through during your first-time setup.
You can click Skip below the download button to continue.
On the Phone tab of the RingCentral app (under the Keypad sub-tab), you may also see a warning message like the one pictured below. Click Open Plugin to continue.
What happens next?
One of the following may occur:
The plugin loads normally
You will be returned to the Teams app, and you will now be able to make and receive calls.A browser window opens with a pop-up stating:
“This site is trying to open RingCentral for… Desktop Plugin.”
Click Open to proceed. You will then be returned to Teams, and the calling features will be available.

No pop-up appears
Click the blue Download button - the download will start.
Once the download finishes, click the file to launch the installer

Follow the installation prompts to install the plugin

Agree to the terms and conditions

Wait for the installation to finish
- The installer will close automatically once done
- Return to Teams and wait for the plugin to load. You may have to click the Open Plugin link to launch it.
